“Mount” comes from the Latin mons — to project or stand out. A sense of elevation, eminence — even ascent toward something higher.
“Logos” is ancient Greek for word, reason, and divine order. It’s the root of logic — and in Christian theology it refers to the Word of God, the divine principle structuring reality.
So Mt. Logos means “the summit of reason” — or “ascending toward the Word.”
Skopo comes from the Greek σκοπός (skopos), rooted in the ancient *spek- — to observe, to watch. That became the verb skopein, “to look at, to examine,” and then the noun skopos itself: not the watcher, but the thing the watcher fixes their eyes on — a mark, a target.
Greek thinkers set skopos against telos, the ultimate end. An archer can’t hit a far-off goal by staring at it — only by locking onto the mark right in front of them. Skopos is the immediate mark; telos is what hitting it serves.
So Skopo is a reference to a target, an aim, or an objective.
It’s the word in Philippians 3:14 — “I press toward the mark.” Weekly Planning is what missionaries call it. Pick your mark, plan the week, act, review.
Kanyon Gardner is a returned missionary. Coming home, he tried to rebuild what the area book planner gave him on his mission — the daily structure and the utility of it — stitching together Excel sheets, Google Calendar, and every note-taking app he could find. He called those Excel files “Life Strat.” Nothing held the whole picture in one place.
